Chimborazo Volcano 2-Day Hike

On our 2-day hike through the Chimborazo Volcano, you will embark on an adventure through the mountains, meet vicuñas, and enjoy scenic views.

Chimborazo Volcano 2-Day Hike

Day 1

Pickup will be at 7 am from your hotel in Riobamba. After a brief stop for breakfast, we will travel to the foothills of the Chimborazo Volcano to start our hike.

The hike covers 6 miles (10 kilometers) ascending to an altitude of 13,615 feet (4,150 meters) where the Urku Wasi lodge is located. A filling lunch will be provided upon arrival, followed by a route to the Condor Samana Waterfall, which stands 131 feet (40 meters) high, a result of a melted volcanic glacier.

We will return to the lodge for dinner that evening.

Day 2

After breakfast, we will start a 5-hour hike through the Abraspung Valley to view the volcanoes of Carihuirazo and Chimborazo, encountering alpacas, llamas, and vicuñas along the way.

Post-hike, lunch will be served before we return down the volcano to our minibus. We will stop at La Chorrera Canyon to see its rock walls reaching 656 feet (200 meters) in height.

We aim to arrive back at your hotel in Riobamba by 5 pm.
