Chimborazo Volcano 2-Day Hike

On our 2-day hike through the Chimborazo Volcano, you'll experience an adventure in the mountains, encounter vicuñas, and enjoy scenic landscapes.

Chimborazo Volcano 2-Day Hike

Day 1

The day begins with a pickup at 7 am from your hotel in Riobamba. We will travel to Urbina, where we will have breakfast before heading to the foothills of Chimborazo Volcano to start our hike.

Our hike covers 6 miles (10 kilometres) and reaches an altitude of 13,615 feet (4,150 metres) at the Urku Wasi lodge. Upon arrival, we will enjoy lunch, followed by a visit to the Condor Samana Waterfall, which rises 131 feet (40 metres) due to melted volcanic glaciers.

We will return to the lodge for dinner under the night sky of the Ecuadorian Andes.

Day 2

The next morning begins with breakfast. We will embark on a 5-hour hike through the Abraspung Valley to view the volcanoes Carihuirazo and Chimborazo, where we may encounter alpacas, llamas, and vicuñas.

After lunch, we will hike back down the volcano and take a minibus home. We will stop at La Chorrera Canyon to view its 656-foot (200-metre) rock walls.

We will arrive back at your hotel in Riobamba at 5 pm.
