Embark on a journey to discover the peak of Ecuador, the Chimborazo volcano, with this immersive full-day excursion starting from Riobamba.

Full Day Tour of Chimborazo Volcano

A las 8:00 am, we will meet you at your accommodation in Riobamba and set off toward the magnificent Chimborazo volcano.

During our journey, we will pause at various viewpoints to appreciate the stunning vistas of the snow-covered summit, allowing plenty of opportunities for photography and admiration of the surroundings. By approximately 11:30 am, we will reach the first refuge of Chimborazo, situated at an elevation of 15,748 feet (4,800 meters).

From this point, we will initiate a short 0.6-mile hike (1 kilometer) to the beautiful Cóndor Cocha lagoon, located at an impressive height of 16,732 feet (5,100 meters). Along this trail, we will also pass the second refuge, Whymper, which stands at 5,000 meters. This trek will take roughly two and a half hours.

After our exploration at Chimborazo, we will visit the breathtaking cliff known as La Chorrera, located at a height of 13,123 feet (4,000 meters). This invigorating segment of the tour is sure to build your appetite, and at around 2:00 pm, we will proceed to San Juan for a delightful lunch featuring chicken fillet served with rice and salad, barley rice soup, or quinoa, complemented by seasonal fruit juice.

Concluding our day, we will head back to your hotel in Riobamba, where we expect to arrive by 4:00 pm.
