Hiking the Chimborazo Volcano

With this hiking route through the Chimborazo volcano reserve, you'll walk through valleys with a lot of history and you'll see the closest terrestrial point to the sun, a unique route that you can't miss!

Description

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Riobamba and head to the La Chorrera canyon, where we'll start a 15-km trekking route through the Chimborazo volcano reserve.

During the hike, we will learn about some endemic plants and may encounter herds of friendly vicuñas. We will pass by the first Carrel refuge and, 1.5 km later, we will arrive at the Whymper refuge.

We will continue the trail to the Cóndor Cocha lagoon, located at an altitude of 5,100 meters above sea level. Afterward, we will descend to La Chorrera Canyon to visit the Chimborazo viewpoint, where we will provide a delicious snack to recharge.

Finally, we will return to Riobamba, arriving 7-8 hours later.
