Horse Riding Activity at the Chimborazo Volcano

We will pick you up from your hotel in Riobamba at the scheduled time and head to the foothills of the Chimborazo Volcano. Upon arrival at the refuge, we will commence a 3-hour horse ride at an altitude of 4,100 metres (13,451 feet).

During the ride, we will traverse trails populated with endemic plant species, including the almohadilla, ashpachocho, climber's flower, and caballochupa. You will also have the opportunity to see friendly Andean vicuñas, a species of high mountain camelid.

At approximately 2:30 pm, we will take a break for refreshments, which will include a sandwich, a piece of fruit, and some juice. While resting, you can enjoy the views of Chimborazo and Carihuairazo, part of the western Andes range.

Following the break, we will continue our horseback journey to the Cóndor Samana Waterfall, a 131-foot (40-metre) waterfall formed by nearby melting glaciers, known for its therapeutic water properties.

Finally, we will return to Riobamba, with an anticipated arrival back at your hotel by 5 pm.
