Horse Riding Activity at the Chimborazo Volcano

After picking you up from your hotel in Riobamba at the scheduled time, we’ll head to the foothills of the Chimborazo Volcano. Upon arrival at the refuge, we'll start our 3-hour horse ride at 4,100 meters (13,451 feet) of altitude.

During the ride, we will navigate trails featuring plant life endemic to the area, including the almohadilla, ashpachocho, climber’s flower, and caballochupa. We may also encounter Andean vicuñas, a high mountain camelid species.

At approximately 2:30 pm, we'll pause for a break with a sandwich, a piece of fruit, and some juice. While resting, we'll enjoy views of Chimborazo and Carihuairazo, part of the western Andes.

After the break, we will continue on horseback to the Cóndor Samana Waterfall, a 131-foot (40-meter) waterfall formed by melting glaciers, known for its therapeutic water properties.

We will conclude our adventure and return to Riobamba, with an estimated arrival time at your hotel by 5 pm.
