Inca Trail 3-Day Hike
Day 1: Riobamba - Tres Cruces
At 8 am, we pick you up from your hotel in Riobamba to start the hike along the 3,728-mile (6,000-kilometre) Inca Trail, stretching across Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador. The hike begins in Achupallas, located at an altitude of 10,826 feet (3,300 metres), where a picnic lunch will be provided. Afterward, we'll hike for 4 hours, reaching an altitude of 12,959 feet (3,950 metres) to set up our campsite near Tres Cruces, followed by dinner.
Day 2: Achupallas - Patococha
We start the day with breakfast before embarking on a 7-hour hike to Cuchilla de Tres Cruces at 13,123 feet (4,000 metres), enjoying views of Sansahuín Lagoon. A bag of food will be provided for your enjoyment. We will descend to Culebrillas Lagoon and explore the archaeological site of Paredones de Molleturo, observing remains of three Inca temples. Afterward, we walk to Patococha Lagoon, where we will set up camp, have dinner, and sleep under the stars.
Day 3: Patococha - Ingapirca - Riobamba
We will wake up for breakfast and spend 4 hours walking to the ruins of Ingapirca, the largest Inca remains in Ecuador. There, we will visit the Temple of Sun and learn about the Inca invasion of the Cañari people.
