Inca Trail 3-Day Hike
Day 1: Riobamba - Tres Cruces
At 8 am, we will pick you up from your hotel in Riobamba and begin our journey along the Inca Trail, a route spanning 3,728 miles (6,000 kilometers) through Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador. The hike starts in Achupallas, at an altitude of 10,826 feet (3,300 meters), where we will have a picnic lunch. We will then hike for 4 hours, reaching 12,959 feet (3,950 meters) before setting up camp near Tres Cruces for dinner.
Day 2: Achupallas - Patococha
After breakfast, we will embark on a 7-hour hike to the Cuchilla de Tres Cruces at 13,123 feet (4,000 meters), with views of Sansahuín Lagoon. A bag of food will be provided for your convenience. We will descend to Culebrillas Lagoon, explore the archaeological site of Paredones de Molleturo, and observe three Inca temples, learning about their connection to nature. Finally, we will continue to Patococha Lagoon, set up camp, have dinner, and sleep under the stars.
Day 3: Patococha - Ingapirca - Riobamba
We will wake up for breakfast and then hike for 4 hours to the Ingapirca ruins, the largest Inca remains in Ecuador. We will visit the Temple of the Sun and learn about the Inca invasion of the Cañari people. After the tour, we will enjoy a traditional lunch and return to Riobamba, arriving at your hotel by 5 pm.
