Quilotoa Lagoon Day Trip

Visit one of the beautiful lagoons in the world on our day trip to the Quilotoa Lagoon. We'll set off from Riobamba and admire the lagoon's multicoloured water.

Quilotoa Lagoon Day Trip

At 8 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel in Riobamba and depart for the Quilotoa Lagoon.

On the way, we'll stop in the village of Zumbahua in the Ecuadorian Andes. Here, we will view the canyon of the Toachi River, formed by the Quilotoa Volcano's flows. We will also stop in Tigua to see local Indigenous mask-making.

Following this, we'll travel to the Quilotoa Lagoon, a lake with a diameter of 8 miles (13 kilometres) located inside a crater, formed 800 years ago from a volcanic cone collapse.

We will reach the caldera's edge and begin a 1-hour kayak tour through the multicoloured water of Quilotoa Lagoon. There is a possibility of spotting deer or rabbits among the Andean flora.

Next, we will visit the village of Quilotoa for a traditional lunch featuring corn and beans. Following lunch, you will have 1 hour of free time to explore local craftsmanship.

Finally, we will return to Riobamba and drop you off at your hotel by 7 pm.
