Riobamba, Guano & Pucará Tambo Tour

We will pick you up from your hotel in Riobamba at the scheduled time and take you to the historic center for a walking tour. The tour begins with a visit to the city's viewpoint to enjoy views of the Chimborazo Volcano. Then, we will proceed to St. Peter Cathedral to observe its architecture, followed by a visit to the Merced Market to experience local life and learn about dishes like hornado de Riobamba.

Next, we will visit the Museum of the Mummy of Guano, which features the mummified remains of missionary Fray Lázaro de Santofimia. If time permits, we may also meet Baltazar Ushca, the last ice maker of Chimborazo.

Following this, we’ll visit Balbanera church, built by indigenous people and Spaniards in 1534. Lunch will be served at the Pucará Tambo Tourist Centre.

After lunch, we will explore the tourist center, known for its panoramic views of Riobamba and its traditions in textile making. Finally, we will return you to your hotel in Riobamba, concluding the tour after 9 hours.
