Day 1: Riohacha - Manaure - Wayúu Ranch

Your journey begins at 8:00 am when we pick you up from your chosen meeting location in Riohacha and head towards the pristine beaches at Manaure. Nestled in a breathtaking natural environment, you will savor a delightful lunch comprised of fresh fish and seafood delights.

In the afternoon, we will visit a Wayúu ranch to immerse ourselves in the traditions and lifestyle of the Wayúu people, the largest indigenous community in Colombia. You will familiarize yourself with their traditional dwellings and distinctive attire, and engage with various facets of their rich culture, including natural medicine and the craft of making Wayúu handicrafts.

To conclude our first day, we will gather around a beach bonfire and enjoy dinner at our accommodation in Manaure.

Day 2: Manaure - Los Flamencos Sanctuary - 'Ruta de la Sal'

On the second day of your La Guajira adventure, we will focus on uncovering the many treasures of Colombia's white bride. After a hearty breakfast to fuel our day, our first stop will lead us to the impressive salt mounds of Manaure, famous for their grandeur.

Following a delicious lunch, we’ll take a moment to relax before exploring the salt factory complex of Manaure, where we will learn about the intricacies of salt production on a vast area of 4200 hectares.

We will also venture to the Los Flamencos Fauna and Flora Sanctuary, just half an hour's drive from Manaure. Here, you’ll discover the unique biodiversity of this protected area. The day will culminate with a relaxing experience on the Ruta de la Sal where you can indulge in a soothing salt massage.

We will return to Manaure for dinner and a restful night before embarking on the next leg of our expedition.

Day 3: Manaure - Cabo de la Vela

The third day kicks off at 8 am, where following breakfast, we’ll make our way to Cabo de la Vela, passing through Uribia, known as the indigenous capital of Colombia.

Upon reaching Cabo de la Vela, we will enjoy lunch while appreciating the stunning interplay between the desert and sea at Pilón de Azúcar beach. A brief hike up a small hill will reward us with breathtaking panoramic views of the desert landscape against the Caribbean backdrop.

The day concludes with dinner at our accommodation in Cabo de la Vela, providing ample time to unwind before the next day’s adventures.

Day 4: Cabo de la Vela - Punta Gallinas

After enjoying a satisfying breakfast in Cabo de la Vela, we’ll depart towards Punta Gallinas, passing remarkable sights such as the Jepirachi wind farm and the vast expanses of Puerto Nuevo and Portete desert.

Upon our arrival in Punta Gallinas, we’ll savor a flavorful lunch to energize ourselves before visiting the renowned Taroa dunes, an awe-inspiring destination. We’ll unwind at this scenic spot before heading to the Punta Gallinas lighthouse to witness the stunning sunset over Punta Agujas beach.

After catching the sunset, we will return to our accommodation in Punta Gallinas for dinner.

Day 5: Punta Gallinas - Nazareth

On the fifth day, after a refreshing breakfast in Punta Gallinas, we’ll set off for a rejuvenating swim at the stunning Taroa Beach.

Next, we’ll move on to Nazareth, where a delectable lunch awaits, followed by an afternoon excursion to the Macuira Natural National Park. This unique natural reserve features a cloud forest ecosystem, a vital water source amidst the desert and a true oasis.

After exploring the natural park's treasures, we’ll gather for dinner and spend the night at our Punta Gallinas hotel.

Day 6: Nazareth

Waking up in Nazareth, a serene oasis in the northern part of Colombia, we will enjoy an energizing breakfast to kick off our day.

Throughout this day, we will delve into the enchanting beauty of this picturesque haven, characterized by its lush greenery and crystal-clear waters. We’ll visit impressive waterfalls before savoring a delicious lunch.

Before concluding the day’s journey, we’ll visit a secret spot within the desert that will leave you mesmerized. Dinner will follow, and you can unwind for the night at the accommodation in Nazareth.

Day 7: Nazareth - Riohacha

On the final day of our adventure, we will conclude our journey after breakfast in Nazareth and return to the meeting point in Riohacha, marking the end of this exceptional 7-day experience.
