Wayuu Farm Tour
At the scheduled time, we will gather at the selected meeting point in Riohacha and head to one of the ranches in La Guajira to meet the Wayuu people. The Wayuu are indigenous people native to Colombia and Venezuela. This matriarchal society lives in different rancherias along the peninsula of La Guajira. They are known for being friendly and will show you how their community lives, focusing on their livestock and handicrafts.
After a 45-minute drive, we will arrive at the Jipialu farm to meet the Wayuu people and discover their culture. You can admire their traditional handicrafts, including chinchorros, hand-woven backpacks, and bags, offering an opportunity to purchase unique souvenirs.
The experience will conclude with a tasting of a traditional Wayuu dish, which may include a bun or a stuffed arepa made with fried goat meat cooked over firewood.
