Tour of Pazo do Faramello
At your chosen time, we will meet in the parking lot of the Pazo do Faramello, next to the Xardin do Recordo. We will then explore the Pazo, a typical Galician civil mansion.
Situated over the Tinto River canyon, a tributary of the Sar River, the Pazo do Faramello is an early 18th-century building in the baroque style of Santiago de Compostela.
First, we will visit the chapel of the Pazo do Faramello, recognized as an Asset of Cultural Interest, featuring an altarpiece by the baroque master José Gambino. Next, we will explore the 19th-century French gardens, which include an old cruceiro, the Real Fábrica de Papel, and industrial mills.
We will walk through the surrounding forests of cherry and chestnut trees. This area is part of the Portuguese Camino de Santiago. The walk includes a wooden bridge and paths lined with hydrangeas and camellias.
Then, we will visit three key areas: the baroque terrace of Compostela, the canal of the Real Fábrica de Papel do Faramello, and an 18th-century dam in a Celtic setting. The tour will conclude at the Adega da Arte, an old winery turned store and exhibition hall.
After 1 hour and 20 minutes, we will end the tour with a glass of wine and sampling of local products, including chocolate, honey, or jams.
