Located just 20 minutes from Santiago de Compostela, the Pazo do Faramello features a chapel and gardens, which will be explored during this guided tour.

Tour of Pazo do Faramello

At your selected time, we will meet in the parking lot of the Pazo do Faramello, next to the Xardin do Recordo. The tour will cover the features of this Galician civil palace, constructed over the Tinto River canyon, a tributary of the Sar River, and built in the early 18th century in baroque style.

We will start with a visit to the chapel of the Pazo do Faramello, recognized as an Asset of Cultural Interest, which houses a notable altarpiece by baroque master José Gambino. Following this, we will explore the 19th-century French gardens, where we will see an old cruceiro, the vegetation-covered Real Fábrica de Papel, and nearby industrial mills.

Next, we will walk through forests of cherry and chestnut trees, which include pathways of the Portuguese Camino de Santiago. This segment will involve crossing a wooden bridge and navigating paths lined with hydrangeas and camellias.

We will then examine three notable sites: the baroque terrace of Compostela, the canal of the Real Fábrica de Papel do Faramello, and the 18th-century dam set in a picturesque Celtic environment. The tour will conclude with a visit to the Adega da Arte, a former winery now serving as a store and exhibition hall.

After 1 hour and 20 minutes, the tour will end with a glass of wine and a tasting of local products such as chocolate, honey, or jams!
