If you're wondering whether a day trip to Pisa from Rome is worthwhile, the answer is yes. This activity allows you to see the Duomo and the Ponte Vecchio and take the famous photo next to the Leaning Tower.
Day Trip Details
At the indicated time, we'll meet outside the exit of the Tiburtina station, where we'll hop on a bus to the beautiful region of Tuscany.
After approximately a 4-hour journey, we'll reach our first stop, Pisa. You'll have free time to visit the Piazza dei Miracoli, a World Heritage Site, where the Leaning Tower of Pisa is located. This iconic construction is part of Tuscan Romanesque architecture and was leaning more until stabilization work in 1990.
You'll learn about the bell tower and have time to explore the square and view the Baptistery of St. John and the sculpture of the Fallen Angel by Igor Mitoraj.
Next, we'll head to Florence, known as the birthplace of the Italian Renaissance. Here, you can explore the city and its main monuments, including the Florence Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore, Piazza della Repubblica, and Palazzo Strozzi.
Don't forget to cross the Ponte Vecchio over the Arno River. You'll have free time for lunch, with recommendations to try the typical panino with lampredotto.
After a full day, we'll return to Rome and drop you off at the meeting point after 14 hours.
