On this day trip to Pompeii from Rome, we'll explore significant aspects of Italy's history by visiting the ruins of the city buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD, followed by a panoramic tour of Naples.
Pompeii & Naples Day Trip
We will depart from Rome, crossing its fertile landscape and the Castelli Romani area, including the town of Montecassino, known for the World War II battle.
After a 3-hour drive, we will arrive in Naples for a panoramic tour. We will see landmarks such as the Vomero and Posillipo districts, Egg Castle, and the Royal Palace.
Next, a 2-hour historical tour of Pompeii will follow. We will explore its well-preserved ruins, providing insight into life in an ancient Roman colony. After the tour, we will return to Rome, with arrival scheduled 12 hours after pickup, concluding in Piazza della Repubblica.
Off Season Info
From November 1st, 2024, the itinerary will change to skip Naples and go directly to Pompeii, allowing more time at the archaeological site.
Tour Options
During booking, you can select between two options:
Tour with pickup: Pickup from main hotels in central Rome with a 24-hour reception, but no return transfer.Tour without pickup: Head to the meeting point at the church of Santa Maria degli Angeli e dei Martiri, ideal for those staying in apartments.
Meeting Point Change
From December 24, the meeting point for the tour without a pickup will be Piazzale Flaminio.
Self-Guided Tour of Pompeii
A self-guided tour option is available that includes transfers from the meeting point to Pompeii but allows for individual exploration. Note that lunch is not included.
