Pompeii Day Trip

On this day trip to Pompeii from Rome, we'll explore Italy's history, art, and archaeology, focusing on the ruins of the city buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in 79 AD.

Day Trip Details

At the scheduled time, we will depart from Rome, crossing the fertile landscape and the Castelli Romani region, including Montecassino, notable for its World War II history.

After a 3-hour drive, we will enter the valley of Vesuvius for a 2-hour historical tour of the Pompeii ruins. This archaeological site, buried under volcanic ash during the 79 AD eruption, was rediscovered 1,700 years later, providing insight into life in an ancient Roman colony.

Post-tour, we will return to Rome, arriving at the meeting point approximately 12 hours after pickup.

Important Info

From March 3, 2025, the itinerary will include a visit to Sorrento before proceeding to Pompeii, allowing for some free time in Sorrento. Note that food will not be part of the tour from this date, and participants will need to arrange lunch independently.

This option does not provide a return transfer.Day trip without pickup: Participants meet directly at Piazzale Flaminio next to viale Giorgio Washington. This option is recommended for those staying in flats or bed and breakfasts.
