Rotorua Floatplane Flight

On this Rotorua floatplane tour, we'll fly over the heart of New Zealand's North Island, providing a view of its lakes and geothermal parks from above.

Options

When booking, you can choose from the options below. All depart from 1 Lakefront Drive, in Rotorua:

15-minute Flight

This option allows you to board the floatplane and fly over Mokoia Island, offering views of the volcanic caldera of Rotorua and the lakes of Okotaina, Tarawera, Okareka, Rotokakahi, and Tikitapu, along with the city view from Sulphur Point.

30-minute Flight

The 30-minute flight includes views of the lakes of Rotorua and the highest part of Mount Tarawera, highlighting one of New Zealand's prominent active volcanoes, as well as Waimangu Thermal Valley and Frying Pan Lake.

1-hour Flight + Stopover

This option is ideal for those looking to explore the Rotorua landscapes. The flight begins by soaring over Mokoia Island and the caldera of Rotorua, followed by a route past Mount Tarawera, offering a view of its crater.

The flight continues to Waimangu Valley, featuring Frying Pan Lake and Inferno Crater, before landing in the Hidden Orakei Korako Valley for a one-hour exploration. After the stop, we will return to the floatplane for the journey back.
