Lampivaara Amethyst Mine Day Trip

At the indicated time, we'll meet at 29 Maakuntakatu, from where we'll board a bus to the north of Rovaniemi. After an 80-mile (120-kilometre) journey, you will arrive in Luosto, where the Lampivaara amethyst mine is located.

To reach the mine, you'll climb onto a snowcat, which will take you through snowy forests.

At the peak, you'll walk to the amethyst mine, with over 2,000 million years of history. Enjoy a guided tour, learning about the purple stone and its uses, while admiring its stunning violet color.

You will also visit the excavation zone and have the chance to dig for jewels, keeping any amethysts you find as a souvenir.

After exiting the mine, enjoy stunning views from the hilltop. Warm up around a campfire with a sandwich and a hot drink before returning to the meeting point in Rovaniemi, approximately 6 hours later.
