Lampivaara Amethyst Mine Day Trip

At the indicated time, we'll meet at 29 Maakuntakatu, from where we’ll board a bus to the north of Rovaniemi. After an 80-mile (120-kilometre) journey, you'll arrive in the Lappish village of Luosto, home to the Lampivaara amethyst mine.

To reach the mine, you'll ride a snowcat through the snow-covered forests of Finland.

Once at the mine, you will enjoy a guided tour, learning about the amethyst, its properties, and its uses. You will also have the chance to explore the excavation zone and dig for jewels, keeping any amethysts you find as souvenirs.

After your visit, enjoy stunning views from the hilltop before warming up around a campfire with a sandwich and hot drink. The tour will conclude as we return to the meeting point in Rovaniemi, approximately 6 hours later.
