At the indicated time, we'll meet at 29 Maakuntakatu, from where we'll board a bus to the north of Rovaniemi. After an 80-mile (120-kilometre) journey, you'll arrive in the Lappish village of Luosto, home to the Lampivaara amethyst mine.

To reach the mine, you'll board a snowcat, which will take you through the snowy forests of Finland. Once at the peak, you'll walk to the amethyst mine, which has over 2,000 million years of history. The guided tour will cover the properties and uses of the purple stone while you admire its stunning color.

You will also visit the excavation zone and have the chance to dig for jewels, keeping any amethysts you find as a souvenir from this unique gem mine.

After exploring, enjoy the views of the surrounding countryside before warming up around a campfire with a sandwich and hot drink. The tour concludes as we return to the meeting point in Rovaniemi, with a total duration of 6 hours.
