Photography Tour Details

This photography tour offers a memorable experience of the Aurora Borealis, a must-see on any visit to Rovaniemi. Visitors will be picked up from their hotel between 8 and 10 pm and will travel to the snow-capped forests of Finland, approximately 25 miles (40 km) from the city center. Here, you will enjoy optimal views of this natural wonder.

Participants will explore various scenic locations in the countryside while learning photography tips from a professional photographer, who will also take photos throughout the evening. These images will be sent to you after the tour. The tour concludes with a barbecue dinner featuring reindeer sausage, marshmallows, and blueberry tea, accompanied by local folklore stories around a campfire before returning to the hotel.

Visibility of the Aurora Borealis cannot be guaranteed as it is a natural phenomenon. You will receive basic tips on photographing the northern sky; do not forget your camera.

Hotel Pickup

The tour starts between 8 pm and 10 pm. The local tour provider will confirm your exact pickup time. Hotel pickup is provided from accommodations within a 9-mile (15-km) radius of Rovaniemi city center. If you are staying in central Rovaniemi, you will need to go to the office at Maakuntakatu 29.
