Embark on an exciting journey through a breathtaking place in the Dominican Republic on our Los Haitises National Park Day Trip. You'll see rivers, mangroves, and local wildlife.

Tour Options

At the time of booking, you can choose from two different options, both starting at the Altos de Caño Hondo hotel at the specified time. Below, you’ll find the details for each option:

2.5-hour Tour

We'll meet at the Altos de Caño Hondo hotel and set off on our adventure. After arriving at the marina, we will board a boat and head towards Los Haitises National Park.

Sailing along the Caño Hondo River through the red mangroves, we will reach San Lorenzo Bay. We expect to see rocky mogotes and spot pelicans and kingbirds overhead, along with approximately 700 different species of plants on the islets.

Next, we will enter both Arena and Linea Cave, featuring petroglyphs and paintings from indigenous populations 750 years ago that depict animals, deities, and humans.

After the caving experience, we will continue exploring the park, looking out for manatees, dolphins, and other marine mammals. We will return to the starting point 2.5 hours after departure.

3.5-hour Tour

This option follows the same itinerary as the 2.5-hour tour, exploring the mangroves, San Lorenzo Bay, and the Arena and La Linea caves.

After these visits, we will venture into the Owl Cave, known for its owl nests. Throughout the journey, you’ll have opportunities to observe various bird species in this unique ecosystem.

Finally, we will return to the meeting point and conclude the experience after 3.5 hours of activity.
