Embark on an exciting journey through a breathtaking place in the Dominican Republic on our Los Haitises National Park Day Trip. You'll see rivers, mangroves and lots of local wildlife.

Tour Options

At the time of booking, you can choose from two different options, both starting at the Altos de Caño Hondo hotel at the specified time. Below, you’ll find the details for each option:

2.5-hour Tour

We'll meet at the Altos de Caño Hondo hotel at your chosen time and set off toward Los Haitises National Park. After a boat ride along the Caño Hondo River through the red mangroves, we will arrive at San Lorenzo Bay. Participants will have opportunities to spot rocky mogotes, pelicans, and kingbirds, along with numerous plant species in the area.

Next, we will enter the Arena and Linea Cave, which feature petroglyphs and paintings from indigenous populations dating back 750 years. The artwork illustrates animals, deities, and humans in black and grey shades.

After caving, we will continue exploring the national park, looking for manatees, dolphins, and other marine mammals before returning to the starting point, completing the trip in 2.5 hours.

3.5-hour Tour

This option follows the same itinerary as the previous tour, visiting the mangroves, San Lorenzo Bay, and the Arena and La Linea caves. However, we will also explore the Owl Cave, known for its owl nests and diverse bird species present in the unique ecosystem.

Finally, we will return to the meeting point at the conclusion of 3.5 hours of activity.
