Feel like an explorer for a day on our Los Haitises National Park hike. You'll trek through the wilderness in the Dominican Republic and go on a boat trip.
Hike Details
At your chosen time, we'll meet at Puerto Caño Hondo in Los Haitises National Park for an unforgettable hiking trip.
We'll walk for around 2.5 miles (3.8 kilometers) to Caño Salado while observing coconut, coffee, and cocoa trees. In the rainforest, we'll look for the small solenodon, an endangered mammal.
Keep an eye out for parrots, pelicans, and kingbirds during our hike. We'll share facts about the Taino people who once lived in this region, whose name means 'mountainous land'.
Upon reaching the trail's end, we'll take a small boat back to the starting point, observing red and white mangroves along the way.
After four hours of adventure, we'll conclude the activity back at the starting point.
