Los Haitises National Park Hike + Boat Trip

Feel like an explorer for a day on our Los Haitises National Park hike. You'll trek through the wilderness in the Dominican Republic and go on a boat trip.

Hike Details

At your chosen time, we'll meet at Puerto Caño Hondo in Los Haitises National Park for a hiking trip.

We'll walk for around 2.5 miles (3.8 kilometres) to Caño Salado while admiring coconut, coffee and cocoa trees. As we explore the rainforest, we'll look for the small solenodon, an endangered mammal.

Watch for parrots, pelicans and kingbirds during our hike. We'll learn about the Taino people who once inhabited this park, meaning 'mountainous land'.

At the end of the trail, we'll board a small boat back to the starting point while observing the red and white mangroves.

After four hours of adventure, we'll conclude the activity back at the starting point.
