Lamego Trip

Do you know about the historical region of Terras de Trás-os-Montes? On this trip to Lamego, we'll visit one of the cities in this northern Portuguese region.

Description

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up from your hotel and head to Lamego, one of northern Portugal's historic cities. Upon arrival, we'll begin a walking tour of Lamego's historic centre to explore its notable monuments. We will first admire the façade of Our Lady of the Assumption Cathedral, a gothic temple in the town centre.

Next, we'll walk through the narrow medieval streets to the Igreja de Santa Maria de Almacave, historically significant as the meeting place of the Cortes of Lamego. We will then proceed to the Castle of Lamego, where we will discuss the history of this medieval bastion. Our tour will continue in front of the emblematic Santuário de Nossa Senhora dos Remédios, notable for its 18th-century rococo architecture.

Our tour will conclude at a wine bar for a glass of sparkling wine from Lamego (juice for those under age). We will return to your hotel, arriving approximately 4 hours after pickup.
