Why Visit the Basilica of Saint-Denis?

This Medieval abbey church, located on the outskirts of Paris, was the first building constructed in this architectural style that spread across Western Europe from the 12th to the 15th centuries.

This ticket grants you access to the Basilica of Saint-Denis, allowing you to explore its interior at your own pace. The cathedral is the final resting place of many historic French monarchs, with their extravagant tombs worth visiting, particularly the funerary monuments of Louis XVI and Marie Antoinette, key figures in the French Revolution.

In addition to the sculptural masterpieces, the Basilica houses spectacular stained glass windows, especially the rose window, enhancing the cathedral's illumination.

Opening Times

The Basilica of Saint-Denis operates under the following hours:

April 1 - September 30: Monday to Saturday, from 10 am to 6:15 pm; Sundays, from 12 pm to 6:15 pm.October 1 - March 31: Monday to Saturday, from 10 am to 5:15 pm; Sundays, from 12 pm to 5:15 pm.

Final admission is 30 minutes before closing time. These times are flexible and may change.

The Basilica is closed on certain days due to masses, concerts, and events. Please check for specific dates of these events.

Free Admission

Admission is free for:

EU youth aged 18-25.Children under 18, regardless of nationality.

Additionally, admission is free for everyone on the first Sunday of the month between January 1 and March 31 and November 1 and December 31, as well as the third weekend of September. To receive free admission, visit the site’s ticket office with a certifying document of eligibility.
