Sal Island Tour

  • 7 Stunden

On this salt island tour, we'll explore secret pools, salt deserts, and swim with friendly yellow lemon sharks.

Description

The tour begins with a hotel pickup in Santa Maria, one of the main tourist spots in Cape Verde.

We will traverse the volcanic island from south to north, visiting its key towns. Our first stop is Santa Maria, transformed from a salt extraction site to a significant tourist center.

For tours scheduled between October and March, we will visit Kite Beach, renowned for kitesurfing competitions, followed by a visit to Murdeira Bay for views of Monte Leon.

Next, we will go to Espargos, the island's capital, and to Porto Palmeira, where we will walk through the colorful village and enjoy lunch with typical local flavors including meat, pasta, and fresh fish.

After lunch, we head to Pedra de Lume, the island’s first village, to learn about the salt trade and visit its unique salt flats where you can swim in a volcanic caldera.

We will then visit Miragem, a desert featuring optical effects, and the Blue Eye, a natural pool where you will have 40 to 60 minutes of free time to swim, conditions permitting, and explore the Love Cellar.

The tour concludes at Shark Bay to see lemon sharks up close.

At the end of the 7-hour tour, we will drop you off at your hotel.
