Description

Our journey begins after sunset, with a pick-up from your accommodation in Santa Maria. We will then transport you to a serene beach known for its population of loggerhead turtles, which are the primary species found on the island of Sal.

Your knowledgeable guide will accompany you, offering insights on how to fully appreciate this experience while honoring the natural habitat of these incredible animals. You’ll have the chance to observe the turtles as they nest in the sand or make their way back to the ocean.

As we stroll in small groups along the shore, we’ll ensure minimal disturbance to the turtles as they periodically emerge to navigate the sands. The elegance of their movements will captivate you, and you will learn about their reproductive behaviors and lifecycle. To enhance your viewing experience, infrared lamps will be provided, allowing you to capture moments even in the darkness of night.

Once this awe-inspiring outing concludes, we will return you to your hotel, approximately two hours after our departure.
