  • 9 Stunden

Head to the border between Oman and Yemen on this Private Tour of West Salalah. Explore the cities of Dhalkout and Rakhyout and enjoy incredible panoramic views of the southern valleys.

Private Tour of West Salalah

At 8 am we'll pick you up from your hotel in Salalah and head west to the town of Dhalkout. The drive in the jeep will take approximately two and a half hours.

Once we arrive in Dhalkout, situated on the edge of Dhofar Governorate, we'll explore it by jeep and admire the surrounding green mountain scenery. We will also visit its beautiful beaches, offering views of the Arabian Sea.

After this tour, you'll have an hour and a half of free time for lunch. We'll then return to the vehicle and head to the village of Deem, close to the border between Oman and Yemen. The village's viewpoint offers a good perspective of the Yemeni hills.

We'll continue to a valley filled with frankincense trees, learning about the area's history, including Oman's past trade of frankincense with China and Europe.

Finally, we'll arrive in the city of Rakhyout. We'll visit its beaches, fortress, and one of the oldest mosques in the sultanate.

We'll conclude the tour by dropping you back at your hotel.
