Tour Details

At the designated time, we will meet beneath the clock in Plaza Mayor in the heart of Salamanca. After gathering, we will begin our journey through the city.

We will start in Plaza Mayor, noted for its beauty, and discuss how Salamanca rose to prominence in the Spanish Empire, including hidden tales about the square. Subsequently, we will move to the nearby Plaza del Corrillo, which reflects Salamanca’s medieval heritage.

Next is Casa de las Conchas, a Gothic-style building with carved shells. Close by, we will view La Clerecía, a Baroque building housing the Pontifical University of Salamanca.

Continuing, we will arrive at the historic Patio de Escuelas Mayores, home to the University of Salamanca, one of the oldest in Europe. Here, we will learn about its prestigious past and search for the famous Frog of Salamanca in the Plateresque façade.

We will also visit the Patio de Escuelas Menores to admire the Sky of Salamanca, a ceiling mural showing a Renaissance celestial map.

Next, we will go to Plaza de Juan XXIII to hear about the Old Cathedral, a Romanesque masterpiece. Nearby, in Plaza de Anaya, we will see the New Cathedral, showcasing Gothic and Baroque architecture.

After 1 hour and 45 minutes to 2 hours, our tour will conclude at Plaza de Anaya, where the guide will offer recommendations for dining and drinking to enhance your stay in Salamanca.
