Salamanca Private Tour
At the scheduled time, we'll meet at the Plaza Mayor to kick off our private tour of Salamanca, a city with a historic center declared a World Heritage Site. This town features architectural masterpieces in Picaresque style and a wealth of interesting facts.
During the visit, we'll see the famous shells of St. James at the Casa de las Conchas, which stands in front of the temple of La Clerecía, once a Jesuit College and now the Pontifical University.
The tour continues down Libreros Street to the University of Salamanca, the oldest in Spain, where notable figures like Fray Luis de León and Unamuno lectured. After admiring the Picaresque details of its façade, we'll enter to see the famous Sky of Salamanca, a 15th-century fresco in the historic buildings of the Escuelas Menores.
Next, we visit the two impressive cathedrals, starting with the New Cathedral, built between 1513 and 1733. The Old Cathedral offers a journey back to the Middle Ages with its architecture and sculptures. We will admire the cloister and the Chapel of Santa Barbara, significant to Spanish literature graduates.
After two hours, our tour through history, culture, art, and beauty will conclude at the Casa Lis Museum, a popular destination in Castilla and León.
