The Real Pirates Salem Museum allows you to explore the 18th century and discover pirating history through exhibitions and interactive areas. You'll see artifacts and riches from the Whydah Gally, a ship that sunk in 1717 off the coast of Cape Cod. The treasures remained hidden until discovered in the late 20th century, enabling you to view genuine artifacts from the Golden Age of Piracy.

Explore the ship's history and tragic shipwreck in the museum's various rooms. Encounter recreations of the ship's interior, displays of torture instruments, cannons, and other elements. In addition to informative panels, the museum features interactive areas, where you can learn about nautical knots, pirate vocabulary, and even touch antique coins from the Whydah Gally.

Real Pirates Salem is open Monday through Sunday from 10 am to 5 pm, with final admission 30 minutes before closing. Note that hours may change during peak holidays and national holidays.
