Birdwatching in Santa Rita Natural Reserve
At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Salento and drive for 30 minutes to the Santa Rita Natural Reserve by minibus. The reserve is renowned for its diverse bird life.
Once we arrive, we'll enjoy a delicious breakfast of eggs, arepas, and chocolate or coffee. Afterwards, we'll provide a brief introduction about the rich biodiversity of the Santa Rita Reserve.
We will hike approximately 1.5 miles (2-3 km). During the walk, we aim to see colorful species, such as the cock-of-the-rock and the multicolored tanager. Our guides will assist you in identifying the different species and share interesting facts about their lifestyles.
Additionally, we'll visit the stunning waterfall of the Santa Rita Reserve, where we will discuss the important relationship between birds and water.
After 4 hours of hiking, you will have 2.5 hours of free time to explore the reserve further, take photographs by the waterfall, use binoculars to locate more birds, or simply relax.
We will conclude the activity by dropping you back off at your hotel after approximately 8 hours of activity.
