On this birdwatching experience in the Santa Rita Natural Reserve, we'll learn about and see a great variety of birds and then relax by a beautiful waterfall!

Birdwatching in Santa Rita Natural Reserve

At the indicated time, we'll pick you up at your hotel in Salento and drive for 30 minutes to the Santa Rita Natural Reserve by minibus, recognized for its diverse bird life.

Upon arrival, we'll enjoy a breakfast of eggs, arepas, and chocolate or coffee, followed by an introduction to the biodiversity of the Santa Rita Reserve.

We will hike about 1.5 miles (2-3 km) to spot birds. Participants may see colorful species such as the cock-of-the-rock or the multicolored tanager. Our guides will assist in identifying the species and share interesting facts about their lifestyles.

We will visit the waterfall of the Santa Rita Reserve to discuss the relationship between birds and water.

After 4 hours of hiking, you will have 2.5 hours of free time to explore the reserve. Photograph the waterfall, use binoculars for birdwatching, or relax in the fresh air.

The activity concludes with your return to the hotel after approximately 8 hours.
