Once we arrive near the Cocora Valley, we'll begin a four-hour hike to the Cerro Morrogacho Reserve. Along the route, we'll be surrounded by the vegetation of the Colombian Andean forest and various springs important for the region's water supply.
We may see different specimens of the 31 species of birds in this area, many of which are endangered. The guide will share key characteristics to help us distinguish them.
Upon reaching 3450 metres (11318 feet) above sea level, we'll enjoy views of the Cerro Morrogacho Reserve and its natural environment. We'll have time to take photographs of the panoramic view of the Cocora Valley.
Afterward, we'll start our descent, stopping for a picnic lunch at a quiet location.
When we reach the foot of the valley, we'll conclude the excursion with a return to Salento at approximately 5 pm.
