Machín Volcano Tour

This day trip to Machín volcano offers an opportunity to explore nature and one of the significant volcanoes in Colombia.

Day Trip Details

The trip begins at the main park of Salento at the designated time. Participants will embark on an offroading trip along the National Trail, one of South America's oldest roads, showcasing impressive landscapes and historical significance.

There will be a stop at the Nevados viewpoint for a cup of Colombian coffee and views of Cascada de la Ceja. Afterward, a traditional breakfast will be served next to the wax palms, which can reach heights of up to 70 meters (229 feet) and are native to the Colombian Andes.

Next, the group will head to Toche to enjoy a typical lunch amidst the small town's scenic surroundings and distinctive houses. Participants will also see an unusual forest cemetery along the National Trail.

Upon reaching the Machín volcano, there will be around three hours to explore the area, including the cave floors with notable stalagmites. The tour concludes with a return to the meeting point in Salento at 7:30 pm.
