Palma de Cera Ecocultural Centre Tour

Description

At the indicated time, we'll meet at the corner of Carrera 7 and Calle 5, in the centre of Salento. From there we'll walk to the Palma de Cera Ecocultural Centre and learn all of the secrets of Colombia's national tree.

We'll enter the facilities of this garden centre and reveal all of the stages that the wax palm tree goes through from seed to adult tree.

Afterwards, we'll use a telescope to see a wax palm tree in detail and review the different uses this tree has had since ancient times, including the construction method known as bahareque.

Continuing our tour, we'll go to a viewpoint to appreciate the importance of the undergrowth for the wax palm tree. Photo opportunity included.

After an hour, we'll end the guided tour through the Ecocultural Centre of Palma de Cera, arriving back at the starting point. Finally, we'll say goodbye and provide you with a ticket for lunch at a nearby restaurant.

Lunch

This tour includes lunch at the Bambú o Etnia Arte & Sabor restaurant, subject to availability. The menu consists of a dish of meat and vegetables and a cup of coffee. Participants will go to the restaurant independently.
