Salento & Cocora Valley Tour
At 9 am, we will meet at Parroquia Nuestra Señora del Carmen in central Salento. We will board jeeps and depart for the Cocora Valley. During the journey, we will discuss the region's coffee traditions and the various plant species we will encounter.
We will stop at a viewpoint for a panoramic view of the Nevados National Park and observe the abundant wax palms. The Cocora Valley is home to Colombia's national tree, and we will share intriguing facts about it. As we explore the valley in our jeep, we will look for surrounding flowers and birds.
Afterward, we will return to Salento for a guided tour of the city's historic center. Before starting the tour, we will enjoy a traditional lunch of trout and patacón (twice-fried plantain).
Post-lunch, we will walk through Santo to appreciate its colourful façades and flower-filled balconies, iconic to this municipality in Quindío. We will also cover Salento's origins and key historical events. To conclude our Salento tour, we will visit the Bosque de Palmas.
We will conclude the tour and say our goodbyes at 3 pm in the center of Salento.
