Salento & Cocora Valley Tour
At 9 am, we'll meet at the Parroquia Nuestra Señora del Carmen in central Salento. We'll take jeeps to Cocora Valley while discussing the region's coffee traditions and plant species.
We'll stop at a viewpoint to enjoy a panoramic view of the Nevados National Park and observe the prevalent wax palms, Colombia's national tree. As we drive through the valley, we'll look for flowers and birds.
Afterwards, we will return to Salento for a tour of the historic centre. We'll begin with a traditional lunch featuring trout and patacón (twice-fried plantain).
Post-lunch, we'll explore the streets to admire its colourful façades and floral balconies, iconic to the Quindío municipality. We'll discuss Salento's origins and key historical moments before visiting the Bosque de Palmas.
We will conclude the tour at 3 pm in the center of Salento.
