At the designated time, we'll meet at Parque Principal de Salento and, from there, we'll travel in an offroading vehicle to the Wax Palm Sanctuary of Tochecito. This protected reserve in the Eje Cafetero of Colombia is one of the few places where the national tree of Colombia grows.

We'll start touring Tochecito while we reveal some interesting facts about the wax palm tree, which can live for over two hundred years. This endangered species will draw your attention because of its height and unusual trunk. On this route, we'll visit Finca Leona or Finca Carbonera.

Afterward, we'll enjoy a delicious lunch featuring a traditional sancocho or ajiaco. After lunch, we'll return to the meeting point in Salento by offroading vehicle or go on a 15-kilometer (9.3-mile) hike, depending on the weather and the group's preference.

Arrival at the meeting point in Salento is scheduled for 8 to 10 hours after pickup.
