Tochecito Sanctuary Private Tour
At the designated time, we'll meet at Parque Principal de Salento and travel in an offroading vehicle to the Wax Palm Sanctuary of Tochecito. This reserve in the Eje Cafetero of Colombia is home to Colombia's national tree.
We'll tour Tochecito while uncovering interesting facts about the wax palm tree, which can live for over two hundred years. This endangered species is notable for its height and unusual trunk. On this route, we will visit Finca Leona or Finca Carbonera.
After our exploration, we'll enjoy a delicious lunch featuring a traditional sancocho or ajiaco. After lunch, we will return to the meeting point in Salento via the offroading vehicle or opt for a 15-kilometer (9.3-mile) hike, depending on the weather and the group's preference.
Arrival at the meeting point in Salento is scheduled for 8 to 10 hours after pickup.
