Visit one of the most impressive archaeological sites in Italy: the ancient Greco-Roman city of Paestum. This trip will also explore how mozzarella is produced in the Piana del Sele valley.
Paestum Temples Trip and Mozzarella Factory
At 8:00 am, we will meet at the port of Salerno before driving south to the archaeological site of Paestum, approximately 50 minutes away.
We will begin a guided tour of this World Heritage city, a symbol of Classical Antiquity. The tour will include perfectly preserved Doric style temples, such as the shrine to Hera, dating back to the 6th century B.C. Access to the National Museum of Paestum will provide further insights into the site's history.
Following this historical tour, we will return to the vehicle and cross the Piana del Sele plain, known for numerous buffalo breeding farms from which milk is collected to produce mozzarella.
We will stop at a factory to see the care of the buffalo and the cheese-making process. A tasting of the mozzarella will also be included.
After the visit, we will drive back to Salerno, arriving at 4:00 pm.
