Paestum Temples Trip and Mozzarella Factory
At 8:00 am, we will meet up at the port of Salerno before driving south to the archaeological site of Paestum, about 50 minutes away.
We will begin a guided tour of this World Heritage city that has become a symbol of Classical Antiquity. The tour will feature perfectly preserved Doric style temples, including the oldest, the shrine to Hera, dating back to the 6th century B.C. We will also have access to the National Museum of Paestum to learn more about the past of this site.
After this historical immersion, we will return to the vehicle and begin to cross the plain of the Piana del Sele, known for the numerous buffalo breeding farms where milk is extracted to produce Mozzarella.
We will stop at one of the factories to observe the care of the buffalos and discover the cheese-making process. A tasting of the product will be included.
Afterward, we will return to the car and drive back to Salerno, arriving at 4:00 pm.
