Discover Salerno in a different way with this hiking trail along the Sentiero del Principe. You'll get to see some impressive views of the city.

Trekking in Salerno

At 9 am, we'll meet outside Salerno Cathedral and set off on our hike.

We'll walk through the narrow streets and leave the city behind to embark on the trail of Prince Arechis II, also known as the Duke of Benevento. We'll climb to the top of Mount Bonadies until we reach Arechi Castle, which dates back to the 8th century and became the prince's fortress due to its strategic position.

When we reach the top, you'll see why they built the castle here; to your left, you'll see views of Salerno, and to your right, you'll be able to admire the Amalfi Coast. The climb will be worth it!

After marvelling at the views and capturing them, we'll head back down the mountain until we reach Salerno Cathedral again, where our hike will finish at 1 pm.
