Ticket to the Fort de Salses

This ticket allows access to the Fort de Salses, recognized as a masterpiece of military architecture and historically significant due to its strategic disputes between Spain and France, ultimately seized by France in 1642. You can explore various sections of the fortress, including the common part, the stronghold, and the keep, which served as the final refuge. The fortress has also undergone various reconstructions by military engineer Vauban, showcasing his engineering skills.

Opening Times

The Fort de Salses operates Monday to Sunday:

April 1 to September 30: 10 am to 6:30 pm (uninterrupted)October 1 to March 31: 10 am to 12:45 pm and 2 pm to 5:15 pm

Last entry is 45 minutes before closing.

Free Admission

Admission is free for:

EU residents aged 18 to 25.Children under 18, regardless of nationality.

To obtain free admission, visit the ticket office with valid ID proving eligibility. Free admission is also available on the first Sunday of the month from January to March, November to December, and the third weekend of September.

Note that starting May 16, 2025, artworks will be displayed in the Fort de Salses, resulting in closures of the tower and upper sections.
