Ticket to the Fort de Salses
This ticket provides access to the Fort de Salses, a masterpiece of military architecture that has been a site of conflict between Spain and France, being conquered by France in 1642. Visitors can explore the fortress, including the common part, the stronghold, and the keep, the fortress' final refuge.
The fortress has undergone various reconstructions by the military engineer Vauban, offering insight into his skills.
Opening Times
The Fort de Salses is open Monday to Sunday:
April 1 to September 30: 10 am to 6:30 pm (uninterrupted)October 1 to March 31: 10 am to 12:45 pm and 2 pm to 5:15 pm
Last access is 45 minutes before closing.
Free Admission
Free admission to the Fort de Salses is available for:
EU citizens aged 18 to 25.Children under 18 years from any nationality.
To obtain free admission, visit the ticket office with a valid ID. Admission is also free on the first Sunday of the month from January to March and November to December, and the third weekend of September.
Fort de Salses
Starting from May 16, 2025, artworks will be displayed in the Fort de Salses, leading to the closure of the tower and upper sections.
