Ticket to the Fort de Salses

Travel back in time with this ticket to the Fort de Salses, a masterpiece of military architecture. The fortress, strategically located, has been disputed by Spain and France and was conquered by France in 1642.

This ticket allows you to explore the fortress freely, including the common part, the stronghold, and the keep, the last refuge of the fortress. It has undergone several reconstructions by military engineer Vauban, showcasing unique military engineering skills.

Opening Times

The Fort de Salses is open Monday to Sunday at the following times:

April 1 to September 30: from 10 am to 6:30 pm (uninterrupted)From October 1 to March 31: from 10 am to 12:45 pm and from 2 pm to 5:15 pm

The last allowed access is 45 minutes before closing time.

Free Admission

Admission to the Fort de Salses is free for:

Young people from the European Union aged 18 to 25.Children under 18 years old, regardless of nationality.

To obtain the free admission, visit the site’s ticket office and present a valid ID for eligibility. Admission is also free for everyone on the first Sunday of the month between January 1 and March 31, between November 1 and December 31, and the third weekend of September.

Starting from May 16, 2025, there will be artworks in the Fort de Salses, resulting in the closure of the tower and upper sections.
