Cabra Corral Reservoir Trip

The journey begins at 9:30 am from the center of Salta. We will take the RN68 road south through the picturesque Lerma Valley.

Along the way, we will pass through charming villages, including Cerrillos, La Merced, El Carril, and Coronel Moldes. We will then leave RN68 and take a direct route to the Cabra Corral reservoir, which is home to one of the most impressive dams in northern Argentina.

You will have approximately one hour of free time to relax with a drink while taking in the views of this massive body of water surrounded by beautiful landscapes. The reservoir is the second largest in the country, and the combined flow of the Pasaje, Juramento, and Salado rivers generates substantial hydroelectric energy for many provinces in northwest Argentina.

This engineering marvel, constructed between 1966 and 1972, stands at a remarkable height of 305 feet. To give an idea of its size, it could fill several dozen Olympic swimming pools with water.

After enjoying the breathtaking scenery of Cabra Corral, we will head back to the center of Salta, arriving around 2 pm.
