Discover the enormous reservoir of Cabra Corral during this trip from Salta, featuring one of the key dams in northern Argentina.
Cabra Corral Reservoir Trip
The tour departs from central Salta at 9:30 am, taking RN68 south through the scenic Lerma Valley. Along the way, we pass through villages including Cerrillos, La Merced, El Carril, and Coronel Moldes, before heading towards the Cabra Corral reservoir.
Participants will have approximately one hour of free time to enjoy refreshments and take in the views of the reservoir, the second largest in Argentina. The reservoir is formed by the Pasaje, Juramento, and Salado rivers, which generate significant hydroelectric energy for the northwest provinces of Argentina.
This engineering marvel, constructed between 1966 and 1972, reaches a height of 305 feet. Its size is comparable to several dozen Olympic swimming pools.
After enjoying the landscape, we will return to central Salta, arriving at approximately 2 pm.
Hotel pick up
The tour includes pickup from hotels in the center of Salta. For those in more remote areas, pickup will be at the meeting point located at 45 Buenos Aires street.
