Cloud Trail and Humahuaca 2 Day Trip

Day 1

After meeting in Salta at 468 Caseros Street, we'll depart in an air-conditioned vehicle towards the Camino de las Nubes, also known as the 'Train to the Cloud'. This railway runs at over 4,000 meters altitude through remote landscapes.

Our journey starts on Highway 34 to Jujuy, stopping for breakfast in Volcán with views from the León viewpoint. We'll continue through the Quebrada de Humahuaca, ascending to 4170 meters (13681 feet) at Salinas Grandes, known for its vast white expanses and turquoise reflections. You'll have free time to explore the salt flats before descending back to Purmamarca, located at the base of Cerro de los Siete Colores (Hill of the Seven Colours). Lunch will feature local empanadas in a nearby restaurant, and you can stroll the town and its handicraft market. Optional trekking is available on the Los Colorados promenade.

We'll leave you at your hotel in Purmamarca, or return to Salta, arriving around 8 pm.

Day 2

We’ll pick you up in Salta before heading to Purmamarca to collect group members. Our first stop is the Cerro de los Siete Colores. Next, we visit Humahuaca for a guided tour of its historic center, including the Our Lady of the Candelaria Cathedral and Monument to the Heroes of Independence, followed by free time for lunch.

Other stops include Uquía, Pucará de Tilcara, and Maimará, all located in the UNESCO-listed Quebrada de Humahuaca. The tour concludes in Salta around 7:30 pm.

Accommodation not included

Please arrange accommodation in Purmamarca or Salta, indicating your hotel upon booking. Staying in Purmamarca is recommended for shorter travel time.
