Make your way through the most iconic villages in northern Argentina on this day trip to Iruya!
Description
We'll pick you up from your hotel in Salta to begin our day trip to Iruya, a picturesque village in northern Argentina.
First, we'll visit the town of General Güemes and then travel on the highway into the province of Jujuy and the Quebrada de Humahuaca, which is the only route to Iruya.
The journey includes stops at several towns, with Purmamarca, Tilcara, and Humahuaca as highlights. We will take you to the best spots for photography, including Maimará and the intersection of the Tropic of Capricorn.
Next, we'll pass through Iturbe and ascend to the Abra del Condor at an altitude of 4,000 meters (13,123 feet).
We will then descend 1,220 meters (4,000 feet) to arrive at Iruya. Founded in 1753, the village's economy is primarily agricultural.
In Iruya, you will have two hours of free time to explore and dine. Recommended visits include the town's church and the central square, as well as viewpoints La Cruz and El Condor.
After 13 hours of adventure, we will return you to your hotel in Salta.
