The Quebrada del Toro is one of the most impressive gorges in northern Argentina. Enjoy these landscapes during this half-day trip from Salta.
Quebrada del Toro Trip
Departure is at 9:30 am from the center of Salta, heading northwest along the National Route 51, passing through villages such as San Luis, Encón, and Campo Quijano.
In Campo Quijano, known as "the gateway to the Andes," the route shifts to a dirt track parallel to the famous Train to the Clouds, ascending to nearly 14,000 ft.
Along the track, we will see the Viaducto del Toro, a large bridge with views of the Quebrada del Toro, showcasing Andean canyons and the Lerma Valley.
We will walk along a section of the viaduct for enhanced views of the landscapes of the Quebrada del Toro, noted for its ochre, brown, and red mountain tones. If conditions permit, sightings of exotic birds may occur.
After visiting the Viaducto del Toro, we will return to the center of Salta, arriving by 2 pm.
Pick up
The tour includes pick up from hotels in the center of Salta. For those in remote locations, the meeting point is 45, Buenos Aires street.
