Exploration of Quebrada del Toro

Our journey begins at 9:30 am, leaving the heart of Salta as we venture northwest along the National Route 51. This scenic route takes us past quaint villages such as San Luis, Encón, and Campo Quijano.

Upon reaching Campo Quijano, often referred to as "the gateway to the Andes," we transition to a dirt road paralleling the iconic Train to the Clouds. This remarkable railway is famous for its ascent to nearly 14,000 ft above sea level.

Continuing along the winding earthen pathway, we will arrive at the spectacular Viaducto del Toro. This imposing bridge provides breathtaking views of the Quebrada del Toro. This remarkable gorge traverses various Andean canyons and the stunning Lerma Valley.

We will have the opportunity to walk a stretch of the viaduct, gaining an enhanced perspective of the stunning landscapes within the Quebrada del Toro. This Andean region is renowned for its diverse ochre, brown, and red mountain hues. Under ideal conditions, we may also spot some of the unique avian species that inhabit this enchanting environment.

After our visit to the Viaducto del Toro, we will return to Salta, arriving back in the city by 2 pm.
