The Quebrada del Toro is one of the most impressive gorges in northern Argentina. Be seduced by these wonderful landscapes when you take this fantastic half-day trip from Salta.
Quebrada del Toro Trip
At 9:30 am, we will depart from the center of Salta and head northwest along the National Route 51, passing through villages such as San Luis, Encón, and Campo Quijano.
In Campo Quijano, known as the "gateway to the Andes", we will change our route onto a dirt track that runs parallel to the famous Train to the Clouds, which ascends to almost 14,000 ft.
Following this track, we will encounter the Viaducto del Toro, a bridge that provides excellent views of the Quebrada del Toro. This gorge traverses several Andean canyons and the Lerma Valley.
We will walk along a section of the viaduct for better views of the landscape, characterized by ochre, brown, and red tones of the mountains. If conditions allow, we may also see some of the local exotic birds.
After visiting the viaduct, we will return to Salta, arriving at approximately 2 pm.
Pick up
The tour includes pick up from hotels in the center of Salta. For those in remote locations, a meeting point is available at 45, Buenos Aires street.
