Day Trip Details

The tour departs from the center of Salta between 6:30 am and 7:10 am, heading north through the towns of Yala, Volcán, and Tumbaya, with a stop at a viewpoint in Purmamarca to view the Cerro de los Siete Colores (Hill of the Seven Colors). Afterward, we continue through the Cuesta del Lipán, Cuesta del Saladillo, and Abra de Porterillos, observing local wildlife such as vicuñas and llamas. The trip ascends over 13,000 ft above sea level to the Salinas Grandes salt flats.

At the salt flats, you have 45 minutes of free time to explore. The white salt contrasts with the blue sky. Next, we return to Purmamarca to try the local cuisine (not included). The tour concludes with a return to Salta, arriving around 7:30 pm.

Hotel Pickup

The tour includes pickup from hotels in the center of Salta. For those in remote areas, the pickup will be at the meeting point at 45 Buenos Aires Street. During high season, hotel pickups are not available, and the meeting point will be at Calle Belgrano, 550, behind the Cathedral. The local team will provide advance notice about this change.
