Salinas Grandes Day Trip

Embark on a journey to the distinctive landscapes of the Salinas Grandes with this captivating excursion from Salta. Experience some of the most breathtaking natural attractions Argentina has to offer.

Day Trip Overview

The departure from downtown Salta is scheduled between 6:30 am and 7:10 am. Our route will take us northward, traversing the picturesque towns of Yala, Volcán, and Tumbaya, ultimately leading us to the renowned Cerro de los Siete Colores (Hill of the Seven Colors). Here, we will pause at a viewpoint in Purmamarca to admire this stunning, colorful mountain.

Continuing our journey, we will navigate through the Cuesta del Lipán, Cuesta del Saladillo, and Abra de Porterillos. You will have the chance to spot remarkable wildlife, such as vicuñas and llamas—make sure to have your camera ready! As we ascend beyond 13,000 ft above sea level, we will finally arrive at the renowned Salinas Grandes salt flats.

You will enjoy 45 minutes of personal exploration time amidst the salt formations, where the striking white surface meets the vivid blue sky. Subsequently, we will return to the historic center of Purmamarca, providing an opportunity to sample the exquisite local cuisine (not included).

This adventure concludes with our return to Salta, expected to arrive in the city center around 7:30 pm.

Hotel Pickup Information

The tour features pickup services from hotels located in the central area of Salta. If your accommodation is situated in a more distant location, please meet us at the designated point: 45 Buenos Aires Street.

It is also important to mention that during peak season, we are unable to conduct pickups from hotels. In such cases, we will arrange a meetup at Calle Belgrano, 550, situated just behind the Cathedral. Should this adjustment be necessary, the local team will inform you well in advance.
