On this cultural tour of Salvador, we'll explore Bahian tradition by visiting the old house of the writer Jorge Amado and spaces dedicated to the painter Carybé and the photographer Pierre Verger.
Bahia Culture Tour
Pickup starts between 12:30 pm and 2 pm at your hotel in Salvador de Bahia. The tour will provide an immersive experience in Bahian culture.
We begin at the Casa do Rio Vermelho, where Jorge Amado and his wife Zélia Gattai lived. Amado had a close relationship with Carybé and Pierre Verger, who were major figures in the baianidade movement.
Next, we'll visit the Santa Maria fort to see the Verger space, honoring the work of the photographer known for capturing diverse cultures, including those of Japan, Spain, Niger, and Brazil.
Our final stop is the San Diego Fort, home to the Carybé space. The artist, originally from Argentina, was versatile in his work, which includes ceramics, murals, sculptures, and engravings.
We will conclude the tour and return to your hotel in Salvador de Bahia, arriving around 6:30 pm.
