On this cultural tour of Salvador, we will experience Bahian tradition and visit the old house of writer Jorge Amado, as well as spaces dedicated to painter Carybé and photographer Pierre Verger.
Bahia Culture Tour
We will pick you up between 12:30 pm and 2 pm at your hotel in Salvador de Bahia to begin this immersive tour of Bahian culture.
Our first destination is the Casa do Rio Vermelho, where writer Jorge Amado and his wife Zélia Gattai lived. Amado had close ties with Carybé and Verger, who were key figures in promoting the baianidade artistic movement.
Next, we will visit the Santa Maria fort to explore the Verger space, dedicated to the work of the French-born photographer Pierre Verger, renowned for capturing diverse customs and traditions, including those of Brazil.
Our final stop will be the San Diego Fort, which hosts the Carybé space. The Argentine-born artist, who embraced Brazilian nationality, produced a variety of works including ceramics, murals, sculptures, and engravings.
We will conclude the tour and return to your hotel in Salvador de Bahia, arriving at 6:30 pm.
