Salvador da Bahia is a city with significant churches. This tour of the Bonfim church and the Irmã Dulce sanctuary will allow us to explore some of these important sites.

Bonfim Church & Irmã Dulce Sanctuary tour

Pickup from your hotel in Salvador da Bahia is scheduled between 12:30 pm and 2 pm to visit the main Catholic temples of the city.

The first stop will be the Basilica of Our Lady of the Conception, a baroque-style temple that took over 100 years to construct using stones from Portugal, where we will observe the carving of the patron saint of Bahia.

Next, we will visit the sanctuary of Irmã Dulce, recognized as the first Brazilian saint. Here, we will learn about her story within the temple, also known as the church of the Immaculate Conception of Mary.

Our tour will proceed to the Sacred Hill, where the church of Our Lord of Bonfim is located. We will see colorful ribbons tied by the faithful for protection and good fortune. Participants will have the opportunity to tie one on if desired.

We will return to your hotel in Salvador, arriving by 6:30 pm.
