Capoeira: Art or Sport?

Capoeira is a sport with Afro-Brazilian origins that integrates martial arts, dance, and music. Its roots date back to the end of the 16th century in Quilombo dos Palmares. This discipline is noted for its combination of blows and agile movements, distinguished by its musicality. Capoeiristas learn to play traditional instruments during classes, including the berimbau, atabaque, pandeiro, and reco-reco.

What to Expect

We'll meet at Largo do Pelourinho to begin our capoeira class in Salvador de Bahia. Throughout the class, you will engage with this art form through movement and music and experience the energy, strength, and mental balance that capoeira offers. After approximately 2 hours of practice, we will conclude the session with a dance.

Hotel Pickup

You can choose an option that includes hotel pickup during the booking process. If you select the pickup option, we will collect you from your hotel 1.5 hours before the activity start time to ensure timely arrival at the capoeira class.
