Tour of the Candomblé Region
- 4 Stunden
Embark on a journey into the heart of the Candomblé religion, exploring its history and African traditions in northeastern Brazil.
Tour Highlights
We will pick you up from your hotel in Salvador de Bahia at the scheduled time to begin our exploration of Candomblé. Our first stop will be the Afro-Brazilian Museum, where we will examine the cultural evolution of the state post-slavery. Next, we will visit the Pierre Verger Gallery, featuring a visual narrative from the renowned French anthropologist's photographic archives.
Continuing, we will enter a Terreiro, a sacred space for Candomblé rituals, to learn about the spiritual practices and customs central to this belief system. Discover the relationship between nature's spirit and the human soul as we explore the realms of orishas, voduns, and nkisis.
We will conclude our tour with a guided visit to the Liberdades neighborhood, where we will observe the changes in the favela and quilombola communities. The tour will conclude four hours after we begin, returning you to the starting point.
