Embark on a journey into the heart of the Candomblé religion, exploring its history and African traditions in northeastern Brazil.
Tour Highlights
At the scheduled time, we will pick you up from your hotel in Salvador de Bahia to commence our exploration of the Candomblé religion. Prepare to immerse yourself in the African belief system prevalent in the Northeast of Brazil.
Our first stop will be the Afro-Brazilian Museum, focusing on the state's cultural evolution post-slavery. We will then proceed to the Pierre Verger Gallery, showcasing captivating photographic archives from the renowned French anthropologist.
Next, we will visit a Terreiro, a sacred space where Candomblé rituals are performed. Here, we will learn about the spiritual aspects and ancestral customs of this belief system, including insights about orishas, voduns, and nkisis.
To conclude, we will take a guided tour of the Liberdades neighborhood, observing the cultural changes in favela and quilombola communities.
As the journey concludes, we will return you to the tour's starting point four hours after the adventure began.
