Eagle's Nest Day Trip
Meet us at the appointed location on Hubert-Sattler-Gasse, where we will board a bus heading south towards the German border, leaving Salzburg behind. This one-hour journey will take us through the stunning Bavarian Alps, offering breathtaking views throughout the trip.
Upon our arrival, we will ascend to the Eagle's Nest, perched at an impressive height of 1820 meters (6,000 feet). This site was originally constructed as a commemorative gift from the Nazi party for Hitler's 50th birthday.
Our journey into the Kehlsteinhaus will involve navigating through mountain-side tunnels, leading us to the brass elevator that once transported Nazi leaders and foreign dignitaries to meet the Führer. The experience is quite evocative.
As we tour the various rooms within the complex, our guide will provide insights into the significant discussions that took place at Eagle's Nest during World War II. We will also take time to appreciate the spectacular cliffside views that blend history with a captivating natural landscape.
Before our return to Salzburg, we will pause in the picturesque German town of Berchtesgaden, allowing for approximately 30 minutes of leisure to explore this delightful location.
Following a 4.5-hour tour, we will make our way back to our original meeting point and conclude our adventure.
