Description

We will pick you up from your hotel in San Agustín at the indicated time to visit two significant archaeological sites in the department of Huila. You can choose between two modes of transport: car or minibus, or we can go on horseback.

We will begin by heading to Tablón, an archaeological site featuring a series of monoliths and statues carved in stone. We will discuss the questions of who sculpted them and what they represented during the tour.

We will then proceed to the Chaquira viewpoint, known for providing excellent views of the Magdalena River canyon, including waterfalls and archaeological remains.

Our next stop will be the hills of La Pelota and El Purutal, where we will observe various funerary monuments and discuss the impact of time on these ancient sculptures.

Finally, we will return to San Agustin and drop you off at your hotel 3-4 hours after pickup.
