PADI Open Water Diving Course

Are you in San Andrés and want to earn your official diving certification? This PADI Open Water Course will enable you to dive globally to 18 metres (60 feet) and explore the Colombian Caribbean over 3 days.

Options

When booking your PADI Open Water Course, you can choose from the Basic or Advanced options. Both courses last 3 days and include in-person and virtual theory classes and exercises that are required to pass the course. After booking, visit the diving centre to obtain passwords for the online learning platform. Successful completion allows you to dive worldwide up to 18 metres (60 feet).

Basic Course

We'll collect you from your hotel in San Andrés and take you to the diving centre for theory lessons. In the Basic Diving Course, you'll learn floating techniques and breath control underwater. On the first day, you will learn to don and doff the diving equipment and how to enter and exit the water, followed by a first dive in open water down to 10 metres (33 feet) for about 35 to 45 minutes.

On the second day, you'll undertake 2 more dives, each lasting 35 minutes to an hour, focusing on increasing your underwater autonomy.

On the third day, after donning wetsuits, you will perform a dive to 18 metres (60 feet). Upon passing both the practical and online components, you will receive your official PADI Open Water Certificate.

Advanced Course

For the Advanced PADI Open Water Course, the theory and exercises over 3 days remain similar, but the final dive will relate to one of the specialty options, which include:

Upon completing all tests, both online and practical, you will have completed the PADI Open Water Diving Course.
