2-Day or 3-Day Tour of the Ecuadorian Andes

Are you in Quito and interested in exploring the Ecuadorian Andes? On this 2-day or 3-day tour, you'll discover the active volcanos, colorful lagoons, and charming Andean towns.

2-Day Tour

Day 1: Cotopaxi

At the designated time, we will pick you up from your hotel in Quito. We will travel to the Cotopaxi National Park, located 62.1 miles (100 kilometers) from Quito, with a breakfast stop on the way. After registering at the park, we will visit the Mariscal Sucre Interpretation Center and then hike to Refugio José Rivas, at 15958 feet (4864 meters) above sea level. A lunch stop will be made at a hacienda or restaurant before checking into your hotel in Cotopaxi.

Day 2: Quilotoa

After breakfast, we will visit Julián's home for insights about local agriculture. We will also stop at the town of Tigua for local art, and the Tohatchi Lookout for scenic views. At the Ilinizas Ecological Reserve, you can explore different trails to Quilotoa Lake, known for its turquoise waters. You will have time for a typical lunch before returning to Quito around 7 pm.

3-Day Tour

On the 3-day tour, the second day includes a trip to Baños de Agua Santa, where you will spend the night at a hotel. Enjoy local cuisine and thermal water pools. On the third day, after breakfast, we will hike to waterfalls via tarabita (cable cars), visit the Pailón del Diablo Waterfall, and the Casa del Árbol, including the Swing at the End of the World. After lunch, we will return to Quito around 9 pm.

Changes in the Itinerary

The order of visits may vary depending on the month.

One-Night Accommodation

Includes a one-night stay at Hotel Chuquiragua or Hotel Rondador in Cotopaxi, and for the 3-day tour, a night at Hotel Casa Piedra in Baños.

Tour Schedule

The first tour begins at 7 am and returns to Quito at 7 pm (2-day tour) or 9 pm (3-day tour).

Pickup and Drop-off

Pickup and drop-off services are included only for hotels within a 0.5-mile (0.80-kilometer) radius of La Carolina, Plaza Foca, and Plaza Grande. Alternative meeting points will be arranged for hotels outside this area.
