Cotopaxi & Quilotoa Volcanoes Excursion
We’ll pick you up in Quito at the specified time and head south on the Pan-American Highway. During the tour, you’ll have the chance to drink local tea that helps prevent altitude sickness, and devices are available to measure pressure.
The first stop will be in the Cotopaxi National Park, home to one of the world's highest active volcanoes, which is a key tourist destination. You will explore the park, including a visit to the park's museum and the Limpiopungo Lagoon. Depending on weather conditions, you may enjoy a walk to the chuquiragas forest, located at around 13,800 feet (4200 m) above sea level.
Next, you'll travel southwest to Quilotoa Volcano, known for its beautiful turquoise-filled caldera formed over 600 years ago. A short hike (weather permitting) will lead you to the Quilotoa viewpoint for panoramic views of Quilotoa Lagoon.
You’ll have free time for lunch (not included) before returning to Quito, where the excursion concludes approximately 12 hours after pickup.
