Imbabura Villages Tour

Join us on a tour around the villages in the province of Imbabura. We'll depart from Quito and explore valleys, volcanoes, and lakes.

Tour Details

At the scheduled time, we will pick you up from your hotel in Quito and begin our exploration of the beautiful villages in Imbabura.

After boarding our minibus, we will drive for 1.5 hours to our first stop: Cayambe. Here, we will visit a bizococho factory, and you have the option to enjoy a breakfast.

Next, we will continue to the city of Otavalo, with a brief photo stop at Lake San Pablo to view Taita Imbabura. In Otavalo, we will explore the Plaza de Ponchos, one of the oldest traditional markets in Ecuador, and learn about local life.

We will then visit the Cuicocha Lagoon for a boat ride, during which we will hear about its history, including its creation by a phreatic eruption 3,100 years ago.

After the lake visit, you will have free time for lunch at a local restaurant before we proceed to Cotacachi, known for its leather products. We will visit shops featuring handicrafts made from leather.

Before returning to Quito, we will stop at a shop to purchase chocolates made from the best cocoa in the country.

After exploring Imbabura, we will return to Quito, arriving approximately 12 hours later.
