With this visit to a traditional market and the Guayasamín House Museum, we will explore Quito and the work of a significant Ecuadorian artist.

Quito Market & Guayasamín House & Museum Tour

At the scheduled time, you'll be picked up from your hotel in central Quito and taken to a traditional market.

Upon entry, you will see a flower stall featuring the "best roses in the world", known for lasting up to 20 days after being picked due to ideal growing conditions. The market also offers various fruits like papayas, custard apples, limes, and passion fruit, which you may sample.

You will pass through the typical food area and observe the 'limpias' practice, which involves spiritual healings using locally gathered plants. Additionally, you will visit the fine aroma cocoa section to learn about its production and benefits.

Next, you will travel to the bohemian neighborhood of Guápulo to enjoy views of the Pichincha volcano and Pasochoa. The tour will then continue to the Guayasamín House Museum, where you will learn about themes in the artist's work, including poverty, the Mexican Revolution, the crisis, and the Spanish Civil War.

After approximately four hours, you will be returned to your hotel.
